About Us

Mission Statement

We will strive to provide a culture where children feel included, nurtured, supported, respected, safe and secure and where their achievements and contributions are valued and celebrated.

Who we are

Caelum House School has been founded by Dr Ruth Glynne-Owen, EdD. An Early Years and Neurodiversiity specialist teacher with a Masters in Autism and a Doctorate in Education, who has worked in the field of child development and early years education for over 25 years.

Dr Ruth initially set up the Blue Sky Autism Project in 2010, which was the first service of it’s kind in the UK focusing on evidence based early intervention for children aged 0-5 across the UK. Blue Sky has now expanded to support toddlers worldwide to access evidence based, high quality early therapy for speech, play skills and social development.

More recently Dr Ruth founded the Play2Talk Nursery , which quickly expanded into two locations in Central London. With it’s Pimlico base and Knightsbridge nursery, Play2Talk is available for children across the Capital and beyond.

Having seen the struggles of many of our nursery and early intervention clients in finding a suitable school placement, Dr Ruth decided to found Caelum House.

Caelum is Latin for Sky, and this is the perfect representation of the next step in our journey to continue to provide children with the best possible start in their early education.

Our Aims and Ethos

Caelum House is an Independent School specialising in 1:1 and very small group bespoke educational provision through speech and language, social communication and SEN interventions.

We are a co-educational school offering placements for 10 students from across London and the South East. We offer placements to students aged between 4 and 7 years old (Reception Class and KS1, taking deferred placements into consideration)

As a bespoke independent educational provision, we welcome requests for alternative provision for any child that is experiencing speech and/ or social communication delays.

We are committed to providing a safe and inclusive learning environment in which children can develop positive relationships, improve academic performance, and be inspired to love learning.

Aims

-To provide children with high quality, evidence based, individualised early education will continue with our Reception Class at Caelum House.

-To provide an individualised speech and social communication based approach to teaching and learning that allows us to encourage social, academic and emotional growth and promote positive and respectful relationships and acceptance of others.

-To develop confident, self-assured, and able learners in a diverse and inclusive learning environment.

-To share our passion and enthusiasm for child centred education.

-To provide an individualised learning experience for our pupils and their unique strengths

-To provide our pupils with the skills needed to develop independence, self-esteem, and resilience

-To encourage social and emotional growth through promoting positive relationships with adults and other children.

Through small group and 1-1 learning, all children will be given the best possible opportunities to reach their fullest potential. With the strong foundations that we provide, our pupils will be able to move on to Key Stage 1 and 2 with independence and confidence.
